Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

FREE ASSOCIATION

Imagination engenders
the unseen.

It overwrites
make believe

on to the surface
of indifference.

A WHOLE SELF

It’s not how the story goes…

Merge rivers, cross feet
Break all the laws
Shake amnesia loose from its wide skirt

Weave the wordless
Through the bowing and the humming
Into Soul’s nerve

There's not one body in motion
There are many in the one that's moving
Cradle them all with love and prayer

...but how it ends.

THE HOOP WE JUMP THROUGH

Circumstance
has no circumference.

The curving line
is only in the mind.

There is always
room to spare.

So long as we use
kindness as our compass.

HERO
     remembering George Marchi

Soldiers in uniform.
Taps at mid-day.
A flag unfurled
is folded back
into itself again.

All for you.
Just a bit more theater
for a man whose life
and the world
was his stage.
