Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

PLAYING PURPLE

Don't let the child in you

hide out in the hind quarters

of the horse costume

in the traveling circus troupe.

Your child is better than that.

Let it be the head of the horse

or the elephant

or the juggler's assistant

or the ringmaster.

Please, let it dance

the color purple

in the frilly, sequined dress.
