Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

THE CONTORTIONIST

The warped mirror—
anything before it is

unrecognizable
to itself.

Oh, but the shapes
you can make:

the faces,
contortions,

all alluring,
bewitching.

Distortion is
the glass’s magic,

its spell—the web
that attracts and captures.

The longer you remain
transfixed within

its frame
and a curiosity

to yourself, posing
and bending,

chances are
you’ll end up

in the circus
and never

know how
you got there.
