Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

THE BANDAGE

It keeps something secret
like a mask.

Left on too long
what's beneath

suffocates. A wound
is nothing more

than a story
waiting to breath

its first breath,
a voice ready to escape

into the world.
Stories are wounds

and wounds are stories.
Each needs the other

for healing to happen,
for humility to show

its humanity and humanity
to show its humility.

A face without a mouth
can say nothing of the truth.
