Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

THE CATHEDRAL MOMENT

Even if hurting is happening

you can still go inside.

Enter through the portico

of pain. Once within

the cathedral walls

don’t pillage the space

with your disappointment

inhabit the sanctuary fully.

Let the sanctity

surround you, absorb you.

Send distraction into

the halo overhead

into the streaming sunbeams

into divinity’s dome

cooing like doves disappearing

into hidden rafters.

Every second

can be the Sabbath

when observance dissolves

into presence.
