Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

THE NECKLACE

Love honors
what it grieves.

It turns its tears
to beads

that its village
can string together,

that the throng can wear,
that it can sing and dance in.

What a blessing it is
to be adorned

in body and soul
by what has been lost.

Let’s do our crying in the desert
while dancing together in the rain.
