Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

THE TOLL-TAKER

You must pass through
This place
To get to
The other side,
To cross over.

You can’t go freely, though.
There is a price to pay.
And someone there
Waiting to collect.

Will you pay them
Just what is owed?

Or more…?

Kindness could be
Your random gratuity.

How you treat the toll-taker
Is how you treat yourself.
