Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

SEND FOR THE WIG*

When your stuck and feeling stupid,
don’t stay there,
do something different.
Play dress-up.
Glam-up, give yourself a make-over.
Do like Tristram Shandy did
in the late-18th century British novel
by the same name:
get up, give yourself
a good, clean shave,
deck yourself out
from head to toe
in decadence.
Put topaz on every finger, if you must.
Make yourself fabulous, outrageous.
And why not use hoity-toity fashion phrases
while you're at it, that your mouth
has never “frenched” before,
like haute couture.
To be the part you must play the part.
Become the costume.
What are you waiting for?
Send for the wig.
