Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

VENICE OF THE MIND

Where are the lanterns
and codegas to light them,
to carry them,
to keep the thieves
and demons at bay?

Where are the guides
to walk us at night, through
the dark and narrow streets?

Where are the bridges and canals
to fashion us a city from
islands of mud?

In what distant forest
will we find the timber
to float our symphonies of dreams?
