Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, had a hammer named Mjölnir. Mjölnir was considered a fierce weapon that could level mountains and summon lightning with every blow. In this poetry blog, every Thursday, (Thor’s Day), Mjölnir will forge only song - sing of the mysteries and beauties of the world.

BEYOND A QUARREL AND A COMPROMISE*

Opposites don’t

have to collide

as contradictions.

Paradox

would have us

blend and transpose

them into

each other

like overlapping

circles

to create

a new thing

a third thing:

a space

between

that is shared

as a harmony

a unity

a dignity

a worth

wholly and holy

combined.

*From Robert A. Johnson’s, Owing Your Own Shadow
